TOPIC: CAN SOCIAL MEDIA AFFECT SOMEON'S SELF-ESTEEM

The month of October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Studies have shown that bullying has devasting effects such as school avoidance, loss of self-esteem, increased anxiety, and depression on children and families that have experienced it. with the increased use of technology, cyberbullying has become more prevalent. Cyberbullying can have a major impact on one's self-esteem. Cyberbullying victimize people by making them doubt their self-worth and value. Studies have shown that many of our youths are becoming prey to cyberbullying and damaging their self-esteem. Low self-esteem has a lasting emotional impact including depression, anxiety, sucidial ideation and suicide.
